The Eagles are a rock band from California that first formed in the early 1970s. The four original members, guitarist Glenn Frey, drummer Don Henley, guitarist/banjoist Bernie Leadon and bassist Randy Meisner, first worked together as members of Linda Ronstadt's backup band. They decided to form their own band, and signed to Asylum Records in the early 1970s.
